COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) -- Police have arrested a third man accused of participating in the Five Points brawl that caused the victim to suffer a broken jaw just over a week ago.

Michael Jermel Kendrix, 21, is charged with Second Degree Assault and Battery.

Kendrix turned himself in to the Richland County Sheriff's Department Sunday. He is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

John Cornelius Sumner, 21, and Stanley McBride, 21, are also charged with Second Degree Assault and Battery.

All three suspects are students at Benedict College.

Police say they believe all three men were involved in the fight that seriously injured a Midlands Tech student September 23 in Five Points.

The suspects are accused of kicking the victim and using their fists to repeatedly punch him in the head area, causing lacerations and a broken jaw.

The investigation continues, and police say more arrests are possible.
