HOPKINS, S.C. (WACH) – One man is dead and another charged with murder after an early morning shooting on Leesburg Road.

Deputies say 38-year-old David Lambert, Jr. has been charged with murder in the killing of the 32-year-old victim.

Deputies responded to a trailer park at 3976 Leesburg Road at about 2:30 a.m. for reports of gun shots, according to Richland County Deputy Curtis Wilson.  When they arrived, they found a man who was shot multiple times in the upper body. The victim was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Wilson said the shooting was the result of a "heated argument" between two men.

The sheriff's department is asking that anyone with information on the shooting call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME SC.
