COLUMBIA (WACH)- A man was arrested after police say he exposed himself to a 16-year-old female near Columbia's Shandon neighborhood.

According to Columbia Police Spokesperson Jennifer Timmons, the incident happened on September 11 in the 2900 block of Millwood Avenue.   Timmons says 41-year-old Eric Eugene Elgin was not wearing pants when he stepped out of his truck and fondled himself in front of the girl.

Elgin is charged with indecent exposure.

Timmons says it took police several days to track down Elgin, who has no address listed, though he is believed to be a local truck driver. Police tracked him down using a description given to them by the victim.

Elgin was taken to the Alvis S. Glenn Detention Center.
