SC man killed moments after his dog is run over

HONEA PATH, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a man has been struck and killed by a car just minutes after his dog was run over on the same stretch of road near Honea Path.

The Laurens County Coroner's Office said 67-year-old Jeffrey Glancy was listening to an apology from the driver who hit his dog in front of his home on U.S. Highway 25 on Tuesday morning when he was killed.

Investigators say the road was wet and it was still dark when Glancy was struck.

Authorities say Glancy's chocolate Labrador retriever also was killed.

Troopers are investigating the collision that killed Glancey, No charges have been filed.
