Shooting victim's body discovered 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
COLUMBIA (WACH) – Columbia police are hoping the public can help them solve an early morning shooting.
A man's body was found shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3800 block of North Main Street.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says the victim has been identified as 48-year-old Michael L. Davis.
A passerby notified police about the victim’s body, which authorities say was lying in the road.
Watts says Davis was pronouced dead at 4:09 a.m. at a local hospital. He died from complications of multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The investigation is ongoing by the Columbia Police Department.
