NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Trident Technical College has received a $1 million donation from Charleston philanthropist Anita Zucker.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (http://bit.ly/PpoYRY ) that the chairwoman and chief operating officer of The InterTech Group has a lot in common with community college students.

Zucker worked her way through Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Fla., before graduating from the University of Florida.

She says $900,000 of the money will be used to improve technology infrastructure at Trident, the rest to create a scholarship.
