CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP / WCIV) -- The search has resumed in the Francis Marion Forest near Charleston one of two women who disappeared early this week.

Officers are investigating the disappearance of 18-year-old Dana Woods and 22-year-old June Guerry of St. Stephen.

Authorities say the car in which two Berkeley County women were last seen was found burned in the forest Tuesday and a woman's body found nearby.

According to WCIV in Charleston, the mother of Woods has confirmed that her daughter's body was the body found in the Francis Marion Forest.

The search continues for Guerry.

Berkeley County sheriff's spokesman Dan Moon says deputies are searching the woods by foot and with dogs. He said investigators are also following up leads elsewhere.

Authorities now say the women were last seen Sunday at a McDonalds in Moncks Corner about 15 miles from their homes in St. Stephen.
