WINNSBORO S.C. (WACH) -  Authorities say a missing girl from Fairfield County has been found in Orangeburg County.

According to Fairfield County Chief Deputy Keith Lewis, 16-year-old Lauren Grace Dixon, was found in the town of Branchville with a 29-year-old Edward Bryan Proveaux of Branchville. Dixon is currently in a local hospital for observation, per county procedure.

Proveaux is in custody, and is charge with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Fairfield County investigators think Dixon left her Winnsboro home after meeting a man on the internet who convinced her to run away from home to be with him.  Deputies originally thought the pair may have been headed to Lexington, N.C.

Dixon had been missing since last week.
