CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The Citadel's Board of Visitors is hiring an expert to help with an investigation into the school's handling of a complaint about a former camp counselor now serving a 50-year sentence for molesting young boys.

A teleconference is scheduled for Thursday, during which the board will select the expert it says must have experience in higher education and law but no connection to the state military college in Charleston.

The expert will recommend three firms to investigate how the college handled the 2007 complaint against counselor Louis "Skip" ReVille.

According to the complaint, ReVille showed pornography to young boys at The Citadel's summer camp in 2002. The school did not notify police of the allegation at the time it was made.
