COLUMBIA (WACH) - A new student living complex is possibly coming to Columbia.

Monarch Ventures plans to bring new, contemporary student living that is in close proximity to the University of South Carolina campus.

The company says it plans to locate a seven-story building on the corner of Huger and Blossom Streets that will house approximately 600 furnished suites.

"We believe a students memory of where they lived should offer more than just recollections of old bunk beds and cement walls, but rather a vibrant living space where students come together to live and learn," said Shannon King, CEO of Monarch Ventures. "We are excited to offer students at the University of South Carolina a revolutionary style of living thats also near campus."

The complex would include a pool, fitness facility, game-day terrace, tanning salon and on-site parking.
