RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WACH) - Nearly 1,500 kids flooded Dutch Square Mall Thursday afternoon for Richland County 101.

The event was designed to give kids a chance to see up close and personal the different departments and agencies within Richland County.  It took six months to plan this event.

Apart from educational opportunities there was plenty of activities and fun.

Organizers say Richland County 101 will help kids have a chance to find an interest in careers early.

Students at the event also received free school supplies.
