Suspended attorney sued for $500,000

LEXINGTON, SC (WACH / AP) – Suspended Lexington attorney Richard J. Breibart is now facing two lawsuits, claiming that he took more than $500,000 from this clients.

The law office that bore his name was closed in June when he was suspended indefinitely by the Supreme Court.

According to lawsuits obtained by The State newspaper, Breibart is accused of taking more than half a million dollars from clients and spending it in unauthorized ways.

Breibart is a Lexington lawyer who has handled a number of high profile civil and criminal cases in his long career in South Carolina.
