IRMO,SC (WACH) - A thief robbed an Irmo McDonald's in a somewhat unconventional way.
According to Irmo Police Chief Brian Buck, the suspect entered a McDonand's at the corner of St. Andrews Road and Lake Murray Blvd. The suspect presented the cashier with a $20 bill and began asking for the bill to be exchanged for smaller bills. The cashier keeps exchanging the bills. Each time the cashier exchanged the bill the suspect would confuse the cashier by asking for bills in another denomination. Before long the store's manager approached the suspect, and asked," May I help you?" The suspect noticed the manager had a significant size advantage over him.
The suspect bolted having scammed the restaurant out of about $20, Buck said.
The suspect is described as wearing a blue "New York" baseball cap, the witnesses couldn't tell which logo it was.He also had on a white shirt and white pants.
