SCE&G caps downtown Columbia gas leak

COLUMBIA (WACH) - A gas line break closed sections of two downtown streets Tuesday.

Columbia-Richland Fire Spokesman Brick Lewis said as of 12 p.m. Bull Street was closed from Laurel to Richland Street. Laurel street is closed from Marion to Pickens 

According to Lewis, one business was evacuated as a precaution.

Officials with SCE&G were able to cap the leak just before 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Both streets reopened around 1:15 p.m.
