COLUMBIA (WACH) - The Oliver Gospel Mission received a truck filled with free furniture Monday.

The items were donated to them by La-Z-Boy for the mission’s thrift store that is located at Two Notch Road. Workers at Oliver Gospel Mission say this isn’t the first time that La-Z-Boy has donated to them.

The thrift store will sell the furniture at a discounted price. Oliver’s CEO says the money will be used to help the homeless.

“All that money goes right into the operations of Oliver Gospel Mission, which helps us with our present operations with homeless men and will also help us down the road as we open a shelter for homeless women and children,” said Wayne Fields, President & CEO of Oliver Gospel Mission.

Fields says this donation is a testament to the good that Oliver Gospel Mission is doing for the community.
