COLUMBIA,SC(WACH)- A Richland County man has been arrested in an early Wednesday morning shooting.
The Richland County Sheriff's Deparment announced the arrest of Ahmad Zaghari, 27, for weapons/discharging firearms into a dwelling and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
On Wednesday, June 27 Zaghari was arrested at the incident location, a Boost Mobile store at 851 Bush River Road, by an alert deputy who was patrolling the area and heard gunfire at the location.
Sheriff Leon Lott said that on Wednesday at just after midnight, the victim heard two people arguing and then shots being fired. The victim was hit by a fragment from the bullet while getting out of her vehicle. She had no major injury and didn't go to the hospital. The victim she saw an unknown female walking away from the argument. A deputy patrolling in the area also heard the gunshots; the deputy was able to locate Zaghari behind the business with a gun close by.
Zaghari was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
