COLUMBIA (WACH) - An unidentified suspect is wanted by the Richland County Sheriff's Department for taking money from a gas station in Columbia last Friday.

Sheriff Leon Lott says the Pitt Stop at 5901 Monticello Road was robbed at gunpoint by a male suspect around 11 p.m. Friday, June 1.

The suspect entered the business brandishing what appeared to be a gun and demanded money before taking the money and fleeing the scene on foot, according to Lott.

The department describes the suspect as being approximately 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds.
