HOPKINS, SC- We now know the name of a man struck and killed by a pick up truck in Lower Richland County.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Amnard R. Walton, 31, of Hopkins, SC, 29061 was struck while walking in the roadway by a GMC pickup truck; Mr. Walton was wearing a dark shirt, dark shoes and blue jeans. The victim was transported to Palmetto Richland Memorial by EMS. He was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 6:20 am. Watts said  Walton died from injuries after being struck by the vehicle.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
