COLUMBIA (WACH, AP) - Two people have been arrested by the Richland County Sheriff's Department on multiple charges in connection with a 2006 murder and armed robbery.

Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrests of Christopher Trice, 23, and Tomasina Miller, 23, Thursday. He thanks citizens who provided information to law enforcement for helping break the six year old case.

Trice and Miller were arrested on charges of murder, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, and burglary.

According to Lott, deputies responded to a medical call at a home on Garners Ferry Road on November 12, 2006. Upon arrival, they noticed the front door at the residence had been forced open. The Joseph Richardson was found unresponsive with injuries to the upper body. EMS pronounced Richardson dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.  No motive was given for the shooting.

Authorities also charged the suspects with armed robbery, saying two Dollar General employees were beaten and threatened with a knife while they demanded money from the store's safe in August 2006.

Investigators used unspecified information to consider Trice and Miller as suspects in Richardson's murder.

Trice and Miller have been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where Trice was denied bond and Miller waived her right to a bond hearing, according the sheriff's department.
