COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The University of South Carolina is giving young girls a chance to make their dreams of one day being fashion designers come true.

The University is hosting their annual Fashion Camp and clothing designer Louise Hudson is teaching the girls how to sew.

"I feel that there are not enough mentors around for fashion design, consrtuction, patent making, and all that sort of thing," said Hudson.

Thursday night 16 girls from the camp will have an opportunity to hit the runway during Columbia's first style week, wearing the outfits they have designed and put together.

Hudson said that the camp usually puts on a fashion show for the girls at USC, but this year will be more exciting because of Columbia Style Week.
