Columbia, SC(WACH)- The rumor is true.  One of the hottest topics in the Forest Acres area turns out to be more than talk.

The Columbia area's first Trader Joe's is set to move into the old Columbia Athetic Club on Forest Drive.

This comes on the heels of another high end grocery store is set to open in the Fall.  Whole Foods, another high end grocery store is expected to open its doors in the fall, at the corner of Ft. Jackson Blvd. and Devine Street in Southeast Columbia.

Jake Broom, with the Town of Forest Acres, confirms a contractor is working on the demolition permits for the old Columbia Athletic Club site on Forest Drive.

Broom says he's been taking lots of phone calls from excited citizens who have lots of questions, like "when is the store going to open?".

Broom says, "This is something the people of Forest Acres can proud of. Not many people know about Forest Acres, but the people here take a lot of pride in it. They are very excited about (Trader Joe's).
