COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina's longest running and largest gospel music celebration took center stage in Columbia on Sunday.
Thousands came out to Finlay Park for the 18th annual Family Fest 2012. The event featured national recording artists, food, games, as well as scholarships to students.
The event brought churches, corporate sponsors, and businessmen from all around the state.
Gospel Rap Recording Artist Kevin Felder a.k.a. Big Red said it is a chance to bring everyone together.
"A sea of people, you can't make out any faces. But to know people are smiling at you, people are waving their hands. It is an absolutely amazing feeling. It is a celebration of community. It is a celebration of education, and the business sponsors who reward kids who have worked so hard and that are going to college."
The Future Leader Scholarship was presented to freshmen students who need extra financial help for college. Good Day Columbia's Janet Parker, Fraendy Clervaud, Jeffrey Lampkin were also present to show their support.
WACH Fox is a proud sponsor of the event.
