ORANGEBURG, SC (WACH) – The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office is investigating "extensive property damage" at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, according to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.

Ravenell announced Monday that approximately 20 classrooms were damaged between Sunday night and Monday morning. The school has been closed to collect evidence and repair damages.

"Our preliminary investigation indicates individuals entered the building and caused vandalism to classrooms and removed electronics. The Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety after they responded to a fire alarm at 3:31 a.m," said Ravenell.

The sheriff says more than 20 officers are at the school investigating the incident.

Classes will resume Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 803-534-3550
