Columbia, SC (WACH)- A bank was robbed in downtown Columbia Friday.
According to Jennifer Timmons with the Columbia Police Department, a man walked into the NBSC branch at the corner of Pendleton and Sumter Streets, near USC. The man presented a note demanding money to one of the tellers. The man walked out of the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. A weapon was not presented during the crime.
Columbia police used their K-9 unit, but were unable to catch up with the suspect.
Witnesses describe the male suspect as having a medium to stocky build, last seen wearing a white button-up shirt, a white t-shirt, light-colored pants, dark-colored shoes, a black knit cap, and some form of glasses, according to the department.
The robbery remains under investigation.
