COLUMBIA S.C. (WACH)—Spring brings the eternal hope of fresh starts, warm days, and of course, the blooming of flowers with amazing colors and scents.  Spring also brings the annual family music series “Rhythm and Blooms” to the Riverbanks Botanical Garden, every Thursday evening through May.

Botanical Garden Director Andy Cabe says “Rhythm and Blooms offers guests a relaxing atmosphere and a rare taste of the Botanical Garden at sunset when its sea of colors really seems to pop.”

Guests are invited to enjoy the “music and flowers after hours” at the Botanical Garden from 6:00pm to 9:00pm each Thursday.  This family friendly event will offer live music from local musicians, arts and crafts from local vendors, and food.

Tickets for the series are $5.00 for Riverbanks members, and $7.00 for non-members and guests must enter through the Botanical Garden entrance on Sunset Blvd.

The musical entertainment for the 2012 concert series includes:

May 3: Whiskey Tango Revue

May 10: Liquid Blue (World’s Most Traveled Band) *Special extended hours until 10pm. Concert begins at 8pm.

May 17: Devils in Disguise

May 24: Bobby Houck of the Blue Dogs

May 31: John Wesley Satterfield
