COLUMBIA (WACH) - Columbia will bring Louisiana flavor and fun to town this weekend with the 7th Annual Rosewood Crawfish Festival.

The festival, which is hosted by The Greater Rosewood Merchant Association, will be held Saturday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Rosewood Drive. It will feature Creole cuisine, music, and plenty of family fun.

Tickets cost $9 in advance and $12 at the gate. Admission is free for children under the age of 12. Advance tickets will be sold at 5th Avenue Deli, Dano's Pizza, Graph-Itti Screen Printing and Embroidery, Rockaway's Athletic Club, Brian Dressler Photography, Ole Timey Meat Market, Rosewood Market, an Greater Rosewood Merchant's Association office.

Patrons can enjoy a platter of some of the more than 6,000 pounds of fresh Louisiana grown crawfish that will be served Cajun style after participating in the Crawdaddy Dash 5K Run, buying crafts from the Arts and Crafts Alley, or playing at the petting zoo.

The Gin Blossoms, Simplified, and American Aquarium are a few of the musical acts to look forward to this year.

Parking is free at the RV parking lot adjacent to the State Fair Grounds on the corner of Rosewood Drive and Assembly Street. Shuttles will run every 15 minutes to and from the festival gates.

Proceeds from the festival will go to improve the Rosewood Community parks, recreational sites and greenways. A portion of proceeds will also be donated to local charities.
