COLUMBIA (WACH, AP) - The Richland County Sheriff's Department identified two men captured on surveillance video at a gun shop that was robbed last Monday, but no arrests have been made.
Sheriff Leon Lott believed the two men had information on the burglary that occurred on Monday, April 23 at TT&H Firearms. The men were seen in the store on multiple occasions in the days leading up to the burglary.
Deputies recovered the Ford Ranger pick-up truck that was driven into the shop. The department has also released surveillance video of the incident.
Investigators say the suspects stole more than 20 weapons from TT&H Firearms on Garners Ferry Road around 2:30 a.m. after crashing the single-cab Ford Ranger pick-up truck into the business.
A report from Sheriff Leon Lott says the suspects exited the vehicle wearing hoodies and gloves. They started throwing firearms into the bed of the truck, and were in the business for around 60 seconds.
The alarm installed in the store alerted deputies to the incident.
Suspects loaded the truck with approximately 22 assault weapons and pistols from the shop. According to the department, damage to the building is currently estimated at $5,000.
Darrell Tracht of TT&H Firearms estimates the damage to the building and loss of inventory at about $100,000.
Deputies found the truck behind a church near the burglary and investigators have determined it was recently stolen from a business on Two Notch Road.
None of the weapons stolen have been recovered at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
