A Bamberg woman has died after a fire destroyed her home.
BAMBERG, S.C. (AP) -- A Bamberg woman has died after a fire destroyed her home.
The Bamberg County Coroner's Office says 62-year-old Margie Diane Nelms was found dead in the home early Thursday morning.
Bamberg Fire Department officials say the home was engulfed in flames when they arrived.
The State Law Enforcement Division is assisting in the investigation of the cause of the fire.
Nelms' body has been sent to Charleston for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
