SUMTER (WACH)-Wounded Army veterans from across the United States are competing for slots on the Army's archery team.

"Veterans are participating in a clinic held at the Sumter Fairgrounds on Thursday and Friday," says Army spokeswoman Lt. Col. Jeanette Griffin.

The 2012 Warrior Games are hosted by the U.S. Olympic Committee and the Department of Defense. The games are held in late April and early May in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Athletes from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines are competing for medals in archery, cycling, wheelchair basketball, shooting, swimming, track and field and volleyball.
