CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Charleston County authorities say they have recovered the body of a missing boater in the Stono River.

Natural Resources Department Lt. Robert McCullough says the body was found in the water shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday. The body was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina.

McCullough says a man reported he and his father-in-law fell from a boat shortly after 6:30 p.m. The man said he swam to shore but could not find his father-in law.

The victim's name has not been released.

McCullough says officials also found the capsized boat.
