COLLUMBIA (WACH) -- The woman that hit a school bus with her car and fled the scene two weeks ago has been taken into custody, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Whitley Monique Watson, 20, is accused of hitting a school bus at the intersection of Ashley and Middleton Streets and leaving the scene. She has been charged with Hit and Run, Use of Vehicle without permission, Open Container, and Driving Under Suspension.
The accident happened around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
Authorities say one child on the school bus was taken to the hospital. However, his injuries were not reported as serious.
Watson was transported and booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center Tuesday night after being spotted on Farrow Road near the Gaz-Bah gas station.
