Richland County deputies say Sylvia and Michael Scott were found safe Saturday.
COLUMBIA (WACH)-- Two Columbia children who ran away from home for several hours Saturday have been found with a family friend.
According to Richland County deputies, the mother of 10-year-old Sylvia Bacon Scott and 8-year-old Michael Scott Jr. reported the two missing from their home in the Olympia neighborhood around 2 pm.
Officials say the mother told them she and her daughter had argued that morning, and the girl took the brother and left.
Authorities say later Saturday, they tracked down the kids unharmed in a home about three miles away.
