LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) - Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) arrested four men and seized more than 150 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine.

The drugs had a street value of more than $15,000. Officers also seized nearly $2,000 in cash and four handguns.

The arrests come after officers conducted a two-month undercover investigation concerning drug dealing that occurred at a home on Gardners Terrace Road near Gaston.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said NET officers arrested Shane Diquan Brooks, 17, of West Columbia, on arrest warrants on five counts of distributing crack cocaine. Brooks was being held on Tuesday at the Lexington County Detention Center on bail totaling $125,000.

NET officers arrested James Alexander Gillings, Sr., 29, of Gaston, on arrest warrants on one count of trafficking in cocaine, one count of trafficking in crack cocaine, two counts of possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and one count of unlawfully possessing a weapon, Metts said.

Gillings was being held on Tuesday at the county Detention Center on bail totaling $295,000.

During the investigation, NET officers determined that cocaine and crack cocaine were being sold at Gillings’ home on Gardners Terrace Road, Metts said.

As a result of conducting the investigation, officers seized about 113 grams of cocaine that had a street value of about $11,300, about 40 grams of crack cocaine that had a street value of about $4,000 and $1,980 in cash, Metts said.

Officers also seized one Hi Point 9-mm handgun, one .357-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, one .357-caliber Colt Trooper handgun and one additional handgun.

NET officers also arrested Charles Eric Jackson, 34, and Jamie Shannon Walker, 35, both of West Columbia, on various charges.

Jackson was being held on Tuesday at the county Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.

Walker was released from the county Detention Center on Friday, February 17 after posting bail totaling $45,000, Metts said.

Metts said the case remains under investigation, and NET officers might arrest additional persons in connection with the undercover drug investigation.
