Former Pastor Charles Ledford sentenced to 5 years for embezzlement

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – Former Columbia Pastor Charles Ledford will spend 5 years in prison for embezzling more than $250,000 from Elmwood Avenue Church of God in Columbia.
Authorities say he embezzled the money over a ten year period, which he served as church pastor.
Ledford pled guilty to the crime in October 2011, but was sentenced on Thursday.
When he completes his sentence, Ledford will be on probation for 5 years and must repay $50,000 to his victims. This is in addition the $30,000 he’s already repaid to the victims.
