COLUMBIA (WACH)--Out with the old, in with the new.  New phone books are being delivered around South Carolina, which means its time to ditch the old books.

Keep the Midlands Beautiful, AT&T Real Yellow Pages and Sonoco Recycling are encouraging people to bring their old phone books and have them recycled.

Phone books can be dropped off at 23 different spots in the Columbia area.

Keep American Beautiful says phone book paper is made from recycled paper and wood fiber like sawdust and wood chips. Recycled phone books are made into products including animal bedding, home insulation, cereal boxes, roofing shingles -- and new phone books.
