COLUMBIA (WACH) - The identity of the person that was killed Monday in a head on car collision with a school bus has been released.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says the victim was Constance A. Myers, 85, of  Columbia.

Myers was restrained in the front seat of the vehicle but died at the scene from a neck fracture.

The collision happened around 4:30 p.m. on Atlas Road near Richard Street in southeast Columbia. The victim was the front seat passenger in a car driven by her husband that struck a school bus head on.

Five Richland School District 1 students were on the bus along with the driver and an aide. District spokeswoman Karen York says they were taken to the hospital after they complained about neck and head pain.
