Bond denied for Pelion hit-and-run suspect

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WACH) - Bond has been denied for the man accused of driving a truck that struck and killed a woman in Pelion last Wednesday.

According to Trooper Brent Kelly with the Highway Patrol, Romeo Romero, Jr. turned himself in at the Lexington County Detention Center around 11 a.m. Sunday.

He currently remains in custody.

The hit-and-run happened around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday on SC-302.

Irma L. Hudson, 59, was hit by the truck and died at the scene.
