COLUMBIA (WACH, AP) -- Benedict College is allowing only limited access to the campus after receiving a threatening phone call Saturday.

Campus police could be seen patrolling the area after receiving the call, which threatened a massacre.

Authorities are looking for De'Amontez Anibario Valdez, who is believed to be driving a red Ford F-150 with Georgia tags.

College spokeswoman Kymm Hunter said Valdez called around 2:30 p.m. Saturday and threatened to shoot up the campus. He was angry at another person who was involved in a relationship with a Benedict student. Authorities say Valdez does not go to the school.

University officials say Valdez is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Students have been asked to stay in dorms and are being escorted to and from the cafeteria. Parents and/or guardians will be allowed to pick-up or drop off their child.

Benedict College Police Chief Heywood Bazemore says credible information leads them to believe Valdez is no longer in the area.

Although the lockdown has been lifted and authorities don't think Valdez is in the area, they say they'll still be conducting a random search of the vehicles on and around campus.
