Forestry Commission staff will be conducting a scheduled burn Wednesday, Feb. 1.  / FILE

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - Residents of the Midlands may see or smell smoke throughout the day today.

Forestry Commission staff at Harbison State Forest will be burning about 15 acres.

The scheduled burn is a hazard reduction burn to mitigate against the chances of wildfire in the future.
