Aiken pub damaged after morning fire

AIKEN (WACH)--Fire officials are investigating a Tuesday morning fire at Griffin's Pub in the Alley.

According to Lieutenant Turno,at approximately 5:39 a.m Deputy Justin Goodwin with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling the downtown district and noticed smoke in the area. 

Deputy Goodwin traced the smoke to the area of the pub.  Fire crews responded to find heavy smoke in the restaurant and a fire in the kitchen area. 

Businesses on both sides of the pub received smoke damage from the fire. 

Fire crews extinguished the fire and all units were cleared up from the scene about 8 a.m, no one was injured.
