Columbia (WACH) - Columbia police are investigating what they say is the first deadly shooting of the year.

Chief Randy Scott says officers found the victim lying in the road near the intersection of Howe and Easy streets.

Scott says the shooter is a black man, possibly between the ages of 25 and 35 years old. The Richland County Coroner's Office is assisting the with investigation.
