Here is your GDC Morning WACH for 1-27-12:
The big fat fun Friday show was jam packed with news, information, conversation, and of course entertainment.
First up, the story that has people fired up all over the country, and may mean the end of a political career for East Haven CT Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr, the now famous "taco" comment. If you have not seen the video, in its full context, check it out HERE. The comments came as part of an interview into the arrest of 4 police officers from the East Haven Police Department for charges including deprivation of rights and obstruction of justice. You can read the story the Wall Street Journal published HERE. This then led to an apology from the Mayor who explained that the comments came from a long day of interviews.
The comment has lead to public outcry, demands for a resignation, and heat from other local mayors and even the Governor of Connecticut.
We asked what you thought about the comment. Was it offensive or is it an example of over sensitivity? You can, of course, sound off yourself on our Facebook page.
Also on the show, Saturday is the World Beer Festival. There are 2 sessions that lovers of craft beer and micro brews can enjoy. Get ticket info and all the details, including volunteer opportunities HERE. Check out the publishers time with us HERE, and see the "sniff test."
