LONGS, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say three men, including one carrying a sword, tried to rob a home in Horry County.

Police say it happened early Tuesday in the community of Longs, northwest of North Myrtle Beach

Police say three men forced their way into a home. The other men were armed with a shotgun and a handgun.

A resident of the house struggled with the men and was hit in the back of the head. The three drove off in a pickup truck after an exchange of gunfire with another resident of the house.

It wasn't immediately clear if the bandits took anything.
