COLUMBIA (WACH)—Once again this week, the price of gas is up in the Midlands and nationally.  The average price of a gallon of gas on Sunday has risen 2.3 cents a gallon to $3.24 a gallon.  The rise nationally is at a much slower rate of .6 cents per gallon to $3.34, all according to www.ColumbiaGasPrices.com.

Yesterdays observed price is 30.4 higher than on the same day last year in the Midlands, and 23.2 cents higher than a month ago.

Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says that "We saw oil prices fall gently late last week as tensions with Iran seemingly have cooled somewhat,"  DeHaan went on to say that he expects to see prices fall in some areas in the country this week.
