(WEST COLUMBIA) – The West Columbia Police Department is looking for a woman accused of stealing a disabled vehicle and then selling it to a recycling center.

Officials say the crime occurred on January 5th at 2:00 a.m. Chief Dennis Tyndall says a 1998 Chevy Blazer was left parked on Morningside Drive in West Columbia after the owner ran out of gas. Tyndall says the driver left to get gas and when he returned, the vehicle was gone.

The SUV was later located at CMC Recycling in Lexington.  Officers say the woman accused of selling the vehicle to CMC used a driver’s license that didn’t belong to her.

If you recognize the woman in the photos, you’re asked to contact the West Columbia Police Department at 803-794-0721.
