CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Eight sea turtles that were stunned by the cold off the New England coast are being brought South to recuperate.
The endangered Kemp's ridleys turtles are being flown from Boston to South Carolina on Sunday on a jet provided by Charleston attorney Mason Holland.
The trip takes about two-and-a-half hours and the turtles will be treated in the coming weeks at the South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston.
Aquarium officials say that with the new arrivals there will be 12 turtles being treated at the aquarium's sea turtle hospital.
