Rassmussen poll shows shift in support among likely GOP primary voters

Columbia,SC (WACH) -- A new political poll shows a shift among the supporters of the leading candidates.

Mitt Romney remains the solid frontrunner with 28% of likely voters. Rick Santorum's support has fallen to 16%. 

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich remains in second place with 21% of the vote.Latest SC Polls:

A similar poll released on January 5 SC poll Rasmussen had Romney at 27%, Rick Santorum at 24% and Gingrich at third with 18%.

South Carolina's "first in the South" primary is on Jan. 21.
