LEXINGTON (WACH)--If you take a trip down Augusta Road to Lexington, SC you'll find the Barnyard Flea Market.
It may look like just another place to get your hands on someting unique at a low cost, but tucked away in lot J-5 you'll find Debey Hancock and mounds of cakes.
"Everybody's going oh that looks so good I could eat it, " says Hancock.
However, what she's whipping up doesn't come out of the oven.
Hancock says, "...I'm thinking oh that look so good I could make a candle out of it."
Debey Hancock started The Southern Baked Candle Company because she wanted tot take her love for candles to the next level.
"I use real food for my inspiration and I want it to look like a cake when you bake it," says Hancock "and it has the cake shape and it has the indentions and the imperfections that most people would say oh there's something wrong with this its not perfect."
Hancock says that's the beauty of her cakes, pies, and muffins all made of wax.
"This takes time, effort, research, patience, and a little bit of artistic value I suppose."
Her candles look so much like the real deal people have actually tried to dig in.
"All the time people are coming to me and going you're not going to believe this I put it on my table and my uncle, my brother, my cousin, my sister, my nephew, you know; somebody, they tried to eat it," says Hancock.
From Froot Loops to your favorite foaming brew and maybe even a gift basket for your sweet heart next month, just like the slogan, you really can have your cake and burn it too.
Hancock says, "You can change it anytime you want with the inserts. You can change the flavor anytime you want to match your moods. You know today I feel like chocolate or today I feel like cheesecake. We have 300 flavors so take your pick!"
