LEXINGTON (WACH)—The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has released a composite sketch of a man who tried to abduct 2 13 year olds and a 9 year old on friday evening.

Sheriff James R. Metts said that a forensic artist with SLED prepared a sketch, based on the descriptions provided by witnesses.

The attempted abduction occurred on January 6 at approximately 7:30 pm at a mobile home park on the Charleston Highway near West Columbia.  According to the Sheriff, a man drove into the mobile home park and began to speak with the 13 year olds, and attempted to convince them to get into his car.  The girls did not comply.  The man then went to a playground in the park, exited his vehicle, grabbed the 9 year old girl, and attempted to pull her into his car.

According to reports, a friend of the 9 year old began to scream, at which point the man got back into his car and drove away.

The man is described as a white or Hispanic male with lightly colored skin, 5 foot 10 and 6 feet tall, and weighing approximately 170-190 pounds.  The vehicle in question was a 4 door older model sedan that was faded gray or blue.  Witnesses also said that the driver’s side window of the care had tape on it.  In addition, the rear passenger seat may be packed with boxes.
