CAYCE,SC (WACH)-Cayce utility officials are completing repairs and cleaning of a broken Sewage line.
At 9:30 a.m., the City of Cayce Utilities Department was notified of a sewage spill at 604 Old Barnwell Road in West Columbia, SC.
Utility officials determined the spill was due to a sewer force main break. Apparently, the sewer force main broke that is the discharge pipe of the city sewer pump station causing an undetermined amount of sewage to flow into Savannah Branch off Old Barnwell Road.
SC DHEC has been notified of the spill.
Cayce utility officials are in the process of repair and clean up.
